Andrew Lee is a Los Angeles-based, Huntington Beach-raised photographer who has closely worked with companies such as Crescioni, Mohawk General Store, and Dazed & Confused Korea.

When he’s not working as the in-house photographer at Alternative Apparel, he’s consumed with personal photo projects and the outdoors, among other recreational activities.

Here’s what the 29-year-old has to say about perfecting his craft.

 

What’s your camera of choice?

Canon digital cameras. Nikon or Mamiya for film.

 

 

How has your procedure for every shoot shifted throughout the years?

There’s a lot more technical «rules» that I try to abide by. I prep a hell of a lot more these days!

 

 

What are some tips on prepping for a shoot?

Depending on what you’re shooting, write down how many and what type of shots you’d like to achieve.

That way, you’re not sitting there scratching your head trying to figure out what to do next. Don’t get me

wrong, some photographers are amazing at shooting on the fly though, just not everyone.

 

 

Describe your style in photography in four words.

You tell me Katrina. Calm, dry, I don’t know!

 

Do you have an all-time favorite image?

There’s a lot, but anything by Tim Barber, really.

 

 

Who are some inspirational photographers in Los Angeles?

[I’m] a big fan of Nicholas Alan Cope and my good friend Stella Berkofsky.

 

What activities and hobbies do you enjoy besides photography?

Camping; hiking, weed smoking, outdoorsy hippy shit.

Andrew Lee es un fotógrafo criado en Huntington Beach en Los Angeles que ha trabajado en estrecha colaboración para empresas como Crescioni, Mohawk General Store, y Dazed & Confused Corea.

Cuando no está trabajando como fotógrafo en el local Alternative Apparel, está ocupado con  proyectos fotográficos y el aire libre, entre otras actividades recreativas. 

Esto es lo que el fotógrafo de 29 años de edad tiene que decir sobre el perfeccionamiento de su arte.

 

¿Cuál es su cámara de elección?

Las cámaras digitales de Canon. Nikon o Mamiya para el cine.

 

 

¿Cómo ha sido su procedimiento para cada sesión cambiado a lo largo de los años?

Hay muchas «reglas» que trato de cumplir con más técnica. Yo preparo un infierno de muchas más en estos días!

 

 

¿Cuáles son algunos consejos sobre preparando para una sesión?

Dependiendo de lo que está disparando, anote la cantidad y el tipo de disparos que desea lograr.

De esa manera, no estás ahí sentado rascándose la cabeza tratando de averiguar qué hacer a continuación. No me malinterprete, algunos fotógrafos son increíbles en el tiro al vuelo, sin embargo, no todos.

Muchas, pero cualquier cosa de Tim Barber, por ejemplo.

[Soy] un gran fan de Nicholas Alan Cope y de mi buena amiga Stella Berkofsky.

 

¿Qué actividades y aficiones te gustan además de la fotografía?

Cabañas; senderismo, fumar marihuana, mierda hippie, actividades al aire libre.
